Guy Andrews & Masayoshi Fujita collaborate on Houndstooth x Erased Tapes 12”

We're very excited to be collaborating with our friends at Erased Tapes.

The 27-minute piece 'Needle Six' is a BBC recording of an improvised session between our very own electronic wizard Guy Andrews (whose debut album 'Our Spaces' dropped recently) and vibraphone supremo Masayoshi Fujita that took place at the prestigious Maida Vale Studios on October 26, 2015. Recorded as part of BBC Radio 3’s Late Junction the performance continues the show's tradition of introducing two musicians on stage for the first time and documenting the unpredictable and compelling sounds, which unfold. Both Masayoshi and Guy were encouraged to abandon their usual respective preparations and adopt a totally new approach. The results are spellbinding.

'Needle Six' is released by Erased Tapes in collaboration with Houndstooth on 12" vinyl – originally created for Record Store Day 2016, it's now available from our store too. Get hold of your copy whilst you can - it's strictly limited to 1000 copies, many of which were snapped up by fans on RSD! Or download the session from iTunes.
